The GGR for the quarter was € 231.26 million, which implies a growth of 20% quarter over quarter and a rise of 24.82% year over year.
Regarding the rest of the main figures, deposits and withdrawals of the players, their variation rates increase in relation to the previous quarter, 25.21% and 27.41% respectively. Marketing expenditure has a little decline -2.49% quarter over quarter and new accounts experiences an increase with respect to the previous quarter, 18.55%. Details are shown in Table 1.
In the analysis of the GGR by game segments, it is observed that:
The € 231.26 million of GGR are distributed among € 103.53 million in Betting (44.77%); € 3.89 million in Bingo (1.68%); € 97.82 million in Casino (42.3%); € 1.07 million in Contests (0.46%) and € 24.94 million in Poker (10.79%).
The betting segment has an increasing rate of 24.94% quarter over quarter and 18.82% year over year. There is a rise of 18.82% in pre-match and 30.08% in In-played sportsbook with respect to the previous quarter. In this quarter “other betting” and “parimutel sports betting” have decreased -29.8% and -182.3% respectively.
Bingo has not experienced a significant change quarter over quarter and a growth of 18.82% year over year.
In the casino segment, there has been a rise of 19.52% quarter over quarter and an annual variation rate of 36.51%. Roulette, Live roulette and Slots are the games with the highest increasing rate, 5.83%, 41.63% and 11.18%, respectively. In this quarter, it is observed that market share of casino is again slightly lower than betting (see Table 2).
The contests experienced a decline of -7.01% in this quarter and a growth of 75.86% in the annual variation rate. This segment continues an irregular behaviour with annual variation rates in the fourth quarter of -27.65% in 2017; -89.43% in 2018; 260.26% in 2019.
The poker presents an increase of 8.63% over the previous quarter and 24.47% year over year. There is a growth is in both, poker cash and poker tournament, 2.15% and 11.18% quarter over quarter, respectively.
As a summary, the percentage distribution of the GGR for the different segments in this quarter of the period from 2017 to 2020 is shown in Table 2.
Marketing spending has been € 148.83 million in the last quarter. It may be broken down into € 12.23 million affiliation expenses; € 9.24 million sponsorship; promotions € 56.33; and advertising € 71.03 million. Affiliates, sponsorship and advertising have a growth of 30.6%, 31.48% and 36.74% quarter over quarter, respectively. On the other hand, promotions have experienced a drop of -33.17%. Promotions are broken down into cost of bonus included in prizes, € 21.66 million and cost of bonus not included in prizes, € 34.66 million.
The monthly average of active game accounts is 1,051,139; which implies a rise of 19.20% quarter over quarter and 8.06% year over year. The monthly average of the new game accounts is 391,510; with an increase of 18.55% and 29.88% quarter over quarter.
